When he started building it, a temple and a monastery were built in it.Vivekananda founded the Ramakrishna Mission on May 1, 1897, which is doing tremendous work in the fields of practical Vedanta and social service all over the world. The Mission not only runs several hospitals, schools, colleges, and hostels but is also involved in development and all kinds of aid work in rural areas. The work of this mission is worth seeing, especially in times of disaster. It does not run only in the country but has spread to many other countries around the world.
