The beginning of Ekadashi date is on 4 October 2022. The Dwadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month will start from 6:8 pm on 5th November and will end on 6th November at 5:6 pm.

Tulsi worship method

On this day, first of all wake up in the morning and offer Arghya to the Sun God and take a vow of this fast by worshiping Lord Vishnu in the temple of your home. After that do special worship of Lord Vishnu on this day.

Offer Tulsi leaves to Lord Vishnu on this day. By doing this Shri Hari is very pleased.

On the day of Tulsi marriage, apply yellow vermilion on all the leaves of the Tulsi plant. After this, offer red chunri to Mata Tulsi.

Then offer all the items of makeup to Mata Tulsi and pray to her for the long life of your beloved. And at the end of the puja, perform aarti of Lord Vishnu.

On the day of Tulsi marriage, every member of the house should eat sattvik food. It is not necessary that only one who is fasting will eat sattvik food.

On the day you are breaking your fast, if possible, before breaking the fast, give donations and dakshina to Brahmins and take food only after taking their blessings.


What is religious significance
According to Hindu mythology, King Jalandhar's wife Vrinda is said to have cursed Lord Vishnu by turning it into a stone. This form of Lord Vishnu is also called Shaligram and his devotees worship this form. To get rid of the curse, Lord Vishnu had to marry Tulsi ji in his Shaligram form. Since then, the festival of Tulsi Vivah is celebrated with great pomp on the Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month.
