The character of Varaha Avatar story is found in many places. One story is related to Hiranaksha. According to this story, once Hiranyaksha reached Varun's city in the underworld and challenged Varun Dev to a fight. Then all the gods together prayed to Brahmaji for freedom from Hiranyaksha. While meditating on Lord Vishnu, Lord Brahma gave birth to Varaha Narayan from his nostrils.
Similarly, from the nostrils of Lord Brahma, the third incarnation of Lord Vishnu, the Varaha Avatar, was born. After this, Varun Dev asked Devarshi Narad about Lord Vishnu and Devarshi Narad said that Shri Hari had taken the earth out of the sea by taking the Varaha incarnation. Demon Hiranyaksha challenged Lord Varaha for war. After this, there was a great war between Lord Varaha and Hiranyaksha. Then the Varaha incarnation of Lord Vishnu tore the stomach of Hiranyaksha with his teeth and restored the earth and an atmosphere of peace was created everywhere.
