Varaha Jayanti falls in the Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. It is believed that by worshiping Lord Varaha, the devotee gets all kinds of happiness including health and wealth.
By taking this incarnation of half-boar half-human, Lord had defeated Hiranyaksha and destroyed all evil. Thus, devotees worship him and pray for his well being.

The festival of Varaha Jayanti will be celebrated on August 30, Tuesday. This festival will be celebrated in Tritiya Tithi, Hastha Nakshatra and auspicious yoga. Tritiya Tithi will start on August 29, 2022 at 3:21 pm. Tritiya Tithi is ending on August 30, 2022 at 3:33 PM.

This festival mainly takes place with enthusiasm in different places all over India. Its different form is seen in South India. On this auspicious day, devotees wake up early and wear clean clothes to worship the Lord.
The idol of Lord Varaha is placed in an urn, which is filled with water and mango leaves along with coconut on the head. After the worship is completed, Shrimad Bhagavad Gita is recited. Mantras are chanted to please God.
The devotees who observe Varaha Jayanti fast donate money or clothes to the poor.

An old temple of Lord Varaha is present in Mathura where this day is celebrated with joy and happiness as the birth anniversary of the Lord. There is another temple in Tirumala; Its name is Bhu Varaha Swamy Temple where the idol of Varaha Swami is given a holy bath on this day. Bath is done with ghee, butter, honey, milk and coconut water.
Worshiping Lord Varaha brings good health, happiness, peace, wealth and all kinds of welfare works. The temples are specially decorated and special bhog prasad is distributed among the devotees.
