Follow special rules of worship on Navratri
The puja room should always be kept clean and broken items should not be kept in the temple. A lamp should always be lit in the puja room. It should be burnt especially in the evening. One should never touch the temple without taking a bath. Lord Ganesha is considered the first worshipable one. That is, before doing any auspicious or religious work, Lord Ganesha should be worshipped. Only one idol of Lord Ganesha should be kept in the puja room. Only a sitting idol of Lord Ganesha should always be kept.
The idol of Goddess Lakshmi must be kept in the house. Mother Lakshmi bestows happiness and prosperity. Where Goddess Lakshmi resides there is never poverty. But the idol of Goddess Lakshmi should always be in a sitting position. A standing idol should never be kept in the puja room. At the same time, if you keep the idol of Lord Vishnu along with Goddess Lakshmi then it is very auspicious.
Hanuman ji is the destroyer of troubles. Worshipping the idol of Hanuman ji at home removes all domestic troubles. Therefore, a sitting idol of Hanuman ji must be kept in the house. If there is discord between brothers or family, then keep the idol of Ram Darbar at the place of Navratri worship. Keeping it in the puja room maintains happiness and peace.
