Dashami day of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month is celebrated with great enthusiasm. This day is related to Shri Ram's victory over Lanka and the killing of Ravana. This tradition that has been going on for years is still celebrated in the form of Ravana Dahan. In such a situation, effigies of Ravana, Kumbhkaran and Meghnath are also burnt along with them.
By bringing these ashes and these woods one gets relief from the fear of Chauri etc. Bringing these things home on the day of Dussehra also removes bad things from the house.
