Shri Ganesh Chaturthi fast is observed on Chaturthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Margashirsha month. On this day the Vinayak form of Ganesha is worshipped.
Worshiping Lord Ganesh ends all kinds of obstacles and gives freedom from mental worries. Devotees who follow the rules of Ganesh Chaturthi Puja and fasting specially worship Lord Shri Ganesha on this day.
A fast is observed on this day and the fast ends after offering Arghya to the moon. By observing Chaturthi Vrat one gets the blessings of Ganesha.

Chaturthi worship method
On the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, one should take bath in the morning and wear red or yellow clothes. The use of yellow color is considered dear to Lord Ganesha, so it is auspicious to adorn the Lord with this color on this day. The statue of Lord Ganesha should be installed by laying yellow or red cloth at the place of worship.After this, Tilak should be applied after performing Jalabhishek.
Durva, fruits, flowers and sweets should be offered to Lord Shri Ganesh. Aarti should be performed by lighting a ghee lamp. Durva must be offered to Lord Ganesh because he likes Durva very much. Now the mantras of Lord Ganesh should be chanted. It is auspicious to include Ganesha idol, red cloth, Janeu Durva, Kalash, Coconut, Roli, Panchamrit, Mauli Lal, Panchmeva, Gangajal etc. in the worship list of Lord Ganesha.

Maargasheersh Vinayak Chaturthi Muhurta According to the Panchang, the Chaturthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Marshish month is starting from 07:28 PM on Saturday, 26 November and this date will be valid till 04:25 PM on Sunday, 27 November. On the basis of Udayatithi, Vinayaka Chaturthi fast of Margashirsha will be observed on 27th November. Those who observe Vinayak Chaturthi Vrat on 27 November can worship Ganesha from 11.06 am to 01.12 pm.
Some auspicious yoga will also be created on the day of Vinayaka Chaturthi, through which we will get more fruits of this fast. On this day, Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga and Ravi Yoga will be formed which is auspicious for happiness and prosperity. Ravi Yoga is starting from 06.53 am on 27th November, which is till 12.38 pm. On the other hand, Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga is from 12:38 in the afternoon to the next day on November 28 at 06:54 in the morning. Both these yogas are auspicious for auspicious works.
