Kashi is the abode of Shiva!

The word "Kashi", literally meaning to shine, is older than its legends. No one could ever decode the origin of this place. Kashi existed even before Athens was not even thought of and even When Rome did not even exist in the minds of the people. It's older than Egypt. 

Hindus believe that by dying here and being cremated on the banks of the holy Ganges River, one can attain salvation by breaking the cycle of rebirth, making it a major centre of pilgrimage.

According to the Hindu religion, no harm can come to Kashi even on doomsday. It will stay till the end of eternity. Bholenath himself protects this place and the devotees who worship here.
