Achala Saptami Vrat Katha
According to the fast story of Achala Saptami, Shamb, the son of Lord Shri Krishna, was proud of his physical strength and ability. Once upon a time, Durvasa came to Lord Krishna with the aim of meeting Rishi. The sage was doing penance for a long time due to which his body became very weak. Then Shamb started laughing loudly after seeing the body of that great sage. Shame insulted that sage by being in the ego of physical strength. Durvasa Rishi got very angry seeing himself being humiliated. He cursed Shamb to get leprosy on his misadventure. He was very sad to find himself in leprosy and his ego was also shattered to pieces.

At that time Lord Shri Krishna Ji seeing his letter in this condition asked him to worship the Sun God. Following his father's orders, Shamba started worshiping Lord Surya every day. Along with this, fasting is also done duly on the Saptami day of Shukla Paksha of Magh month. So that he got freedom from this curse and got the same form and body as before.
