Rani Prafulla Kumari built the temple
It is believed that the sanctum sanctorum of the mother's temple is centuries old. There has been no tampering with this sanctum so far. Although the outer parts of the temple were changed several times by the then kings at different times. The existing temple has been built by Rani Prafulla Kumari of Bastar. The temple has been constructed from the precious timber Sarai and Teak. There are two big idols on both sides outside the sanctum. It has four-armed idol of Bhairav Baba. It is said that he is the bodyguard of the mother. It is believed that it is necessary to visit Bhairav after seeing the mother.

Temple can be reached via Jagdalpur
One has to go through Jagdalpur to reach Dantewada temple in Bastar district of Chhattisgarh. By the way, Mata's court is at a distance of about 400 km from Raipur by road.

Similarly, devotees from Hyderabad and Raipur can reach Jagdalpur by flight and then from there to Dantewada by road. Devotees from Odisha, Telangana, and Maharashtra can also reach Dantewada via Jagdalpur, Sukma in Telangana and Bijapur in Maharashtra.
