This question divide the world religions. Some believe that god has a form while other believes that god does not have any form he is formless and he is present everywhere and both the groups have their own arguments. But, in sanatan dharma there is a philosophy saying that the god do have a form because a formless god can’t create real life things and only realization of knowledge can create shapes and sizes. He who does not have any from and knowledge cannot create different forms of life. If god was formless then the animals and humans does not needed eyes to see because there is no need to see the formless god. Everything you see is god the humans, animals, organisms, nature and the whole universe .These beings have a shape and a form and that is god. Even During mediation we see life energy in a forms (it can be a light or a figure). Wisdom is also remembered in a form of written text or oral conversation so even knowledge has form so why can’t god.
When we talk about formless god it does not mean that he/she is not present there it just mean that we can’t see him just like we can’t see the atoms and molecule present in the air but that does not mean that they are not there. Similarly, we can’t see the soul but it is there and we can feel it. In sanatan dharma there are two types of science. First one is Para Vigyan and second one is Apara Vigyan. In Para Vigyan there are things which are not seen by our bodily eye like god thus to see god we need to open the eyes of our soul and Yogis are the masters of it. A yogi knows a sky elements and air elements he knows the different forms of gods. Similarly, Arjun has seen the different forms of lord Krishna in divine terms a yogi can reveal the real god and when we try to see god in a scientific way he is seen as formless.
