What is the source of the date inconsistency? During the Ganga Dussehra festival,
On the tenth day of Shukla Paksha in the Jyeshta month, Ganga Dussehra is observed. There is an almanac discrepancy this year about the date of Ganga Dussehra. This celebration has been recorded in some almanacs on June 9 and in others on June 10. Dashami Tithi begins at 08:22 a.m. on June 9th and ends at 07:27 a.m. on June 10th, which means that Ganga Dussehra will begin at 08:22 a.m. on June 9th and finish at 07:27 a.m. on June 10th. As a result, the date of Ganga Dussehra is reported differently by different religions.

Mahabharata has a story about Ganga.
The river Ganges had incarnated on the world on this fortunate day, according to legendary times. In the Mahabharata, there is also a narrative of King Shantanu falling in love with Goddess Ganga, which is related to the river Ganges. When Shantanu proposed marriage to Ganga, Ganga consented, but she imposed a condition on the king: she would live her life as she pleased, with no restrictions. If the king asks Ganga a question or interrupts her job, she will leave him and depart. Shantanu followed Goddess Ganga's advice and the two married.
Due to his word, Shantanu was powerless to halt Ganga. King Shantanu did not want Ganga to be lost. The Ganga’s River flung seven youngsters into the river one after the other, but Shantanu remained silent. When the eighth kid was born, Ganga began to realize that child was also in the river, but King Shantanu could no longer bear it and stopped Ganga, asking why she was shedding her children in the river so frequently. Ganga stated that you have breached my word today. This child will now stay with you, and I shall leave you. Shantanu thus lost Ganga but spared his kid. Devavrat was his son's name, and Bhishma Pitamah was his son's name.
