This year this festival will be celebrated on 30 May. The next day is Nirjala Ekadashi. Any festival is fruitful only if it is celebrated at an auspicious time.

Ganga Dussehra, which is celebrated on the Dashami of Shukla Paksha in Jyestha month, will start on May 29 this time. The date of Ganga Dussehra will start from 11.29 am on 29th May and it will remain till 1.07 pm on 30th May. But the date of celebrating Ganga Dussehra will be considered as 30th May only. If due for some reason you cannot go for a Ganga bath, then mix some Ganga water in your bath water at home and take a bath with this water. According to religious belief, doing this gives results equal to bathing in the Ganges.

After the bath, before worshiping Mother Ganga, bathe her with milk and Ganga water, then worship her by lighting incense and a lamp. This year this festival will be celebrated on 30th May i.e. Tuesday. This day is the last biggest Mars of the year. That's why the importance of worship increases even more.
