This year Mokshda Ekadashi of Margshirsh month will also take place on the same day as Geeta Jayanti. Geeta Jayanti will fall on 14th December this year. It has a special significance as Lord Shri Krishna gave his preachings to Arjuna during the Mahabharata war. These preachings are present in Shri Bhagavad Geeta thus, making Geeta Jayanti significant. The month of Aghan aka Margshirsh is considered auspicious as it is dedicated to Lord Shri Krishna. Geeta Jayanti will be celebrated on the Ekadashi Tithi of Sukla Paksha in the Margshirsh month. The Ekadashi Tithi is said to start from 9:32 PM on 13th December and will end at 11:35 PM on 14th December. People can worship Lord Shri Krishna on 14th December.

Walking up at Brahm Bela and meditating and remembering Lord Vishnu is the best way to start your day on Geeta Jayanti. After this refresh your body and soul by taking bath with the holy gangajal. Recite the mantras of 'gange' and do aamchan to refresh your mind. Wear clean clothes and worship Lord Shrihari by offering flowers, fruits incense lamps, etc. and culminate your worship by reciting aarti. If you have time then one should definitely read Geeta. On this day the fast is kept for the whole day, you can have fruits and water once during the day and then in the evening, you can open your fast by eating a meal according to the rituals.
