Goddess Shakti, who is said to be a form of Goddess Durga, is commemorated on Durga Ashtami Vrat. It is a Shakti ceremony devoted to Durga. According to the Hindu calendar, Durga Ashtami is observed on the eighth day of the Ashtami Tithi of Shukla Paksha each month. Shukla Paksha Ashtami in Ashwin month, also known as Maha Ashtami or simply Durgashtami, is the most famous of all the Durga Ashtami days. On Wednesday, June 8, the monthly Durga Ashtami will occur. Durga Devi is revered in the form of Mahagauri during the month-long Durga Ashtami fast.

The Ashtami Tithi will be in effect from June 07, 07:55 AM to June 08, 08:30 AM. Goddess worship will begin early in the morning and conclude with fasting and adoration.

On the day of Durgashtami in the month of Jyestha, the festival of Dhumavati Jayanti is also observed. There is a particular appeal for Goddess Durga worship at temples around the country on this day. The festival of Dhumavati Jayanti, also known as 'Dhumavati Mahavidya Jayanti,' commemorates the day when Goddess Durga descended upon the world to express Shakti.

Durga Ashtami Vrat rituals will be conducted
