Ujjayini was ruled by King Chandrasen. He was a devotee of Lord Shiva. Chief of the Shivganas, Manibhadra was a good friend of the king. Once Manibhadra gave 'Chintamani' to Chandrasen. When Chandrasen wore it around his neck, this gem not only lit up his aura, as well as his name and fame started increasing in other countries. Other kings started making efforts to get that 'gem'. Some demanded, some pleaded for the gem, but it was dear to the king, and he did not give the gem to anyone
Eventually, he was attacked by the King of other countries who demanded the gem. Chandrasen went to the temple of Lord Shiva and started meditation and chanting Shiva's name. When the emperor was meditating, a lady came there with his little boy to pray.

The boy was five years old and the lady was a widow. When a little boy saw Chandrasen meditating he got inspired and wished to worship of Lord Shiva. They went home, but the boy so inspired and driven by his love for Lord Shiva, brought a piece of rock from somewhere and started worshipping it as Lord Shiva's Shivling. After some time his mother called him for food but he was so engrossed in worship that he did not listen. When the lady herself came to call, she saw the child sitting in meditation and not listening to her voice, she got angry and started beating the child, she even threw all the worship materials. When the child came to consciousness after meditation, he felt very sad to see his veneration destroyed. Suddenly a miracle happened there, a beautiful temple was built there by the grace of Lord Shiva. The Shivling was placed in the middle of the temple and the worshipping material there was placed as earlier. When his mother woke up from sleep, she was also surprised.
This news reached Chandrasen, he also went to meet the boy who was devoted to Shiva. Other kings who were fighting for the gem also reached and asked for forgiveness from King Chandrasen and together started worshipping Lord Shiva. Then Lord Hanuman appeared there and addressed all the kings and the people present with the little child in his lap.

Rite shivam nanyatama gatirasti sharinam
And gopa suto dishtaya Shiv worship vilokya cha.
Amantrenapi sampujya shivam shivam vaptavan.

Ih bhuktava khilan bhoganante mokshamvapsyati॥
Asya Vansheshtambhavi Nando Naam Mahayasha.
Prapsiyate tasyas putratvam krishnano narayanaah swayam

The meaning of this shloka was there is no movement of beings except Shiva. This child has chanted lord Shiva name without any mantra or rituals, just by seeing Shiva worship elsewhere.
