According to Hindu belief, Maheshwari society was born on the day of Mahesh Navami with the blessings of Lord Mahadev. This is the reason why the Maheshwari community celebrates this auspicious festival with great pomp and worships Lord Shiva with full rituals on the day of Mahesh Navami.
Auspicious time of Mahesh Navami
According to the Panchang, Mahesh Navami is celebrated every year on the Navami date of the Shukla month of Jyestha. This year, this auspicious date will start from 09:56 am on 28 May 2023, Sunday, and will remain till 11:49 am on Monday, 29 May 2023.
In such a situation, according to Udaya Tithi, the festival of Mahesh Navami will be celebrated on 29 May 2023. Since this year this festival is falling on a Monday dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva, its auspiciousness and religious significance have increased even more.
Importance of worshiping Mahesh Navami
According to Hindu belief, if a person worships Lord Shiva on the day of Mahesh Navami with full rituals or visits any Shiva Dham, then all the sorrows related to his life go away and his wishes are fulfilled.

Worship method of Mahesh Navami
To get desired blessings from Lord Shiva on the day of Mahesh Navami, a seeker should wake up early in the morning before sunrise and after taking a bath and meditation should offer Gangajal to Lord Shiva. After this, by offering fruits, flowers, incense, lamp, milk, curd, Akshat, Bhang, Belpatra, Shamipatra, Bhang, Bhasma, etc. to Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati, Shiva Mahima Stotra, Rudrashtakam or Shiva Chalisa should be recited. Chanting mantras of Shiva on Mahesh Navami is also considered very auspicious and fruitful.
