Story of Maa Brahmacharini
Maa Brahmacharini is depicted as walking barefoot in white clothes. She has two hands and holds a chanting rosary in her right hand and a kamandal in her left hand. The Rudraksh Mala represents her penance for Shiva during her forest life. The kamandala, a water vessel, symbolizes the last years of his penance and how she had only water and nothing else. The lotus attached to the body of the goddess symbolizes wisdom, and the white sari represents purity.
It is believed that Maa Brahmacharini rules over Mars among the planets.
Who is the provider of all fortune and represents the Swadhisthana Chakra in sadhana. Additionally, Goddess Parvati is said to have done severe penance for thousands of years to get Lord Shiva as her husband. Despite the harsh weather conditions, his penance continued with unshakable determination. Due to this she got the name Tapasacharini. She ate only bilva leaves and then lived on water. Later, seeing her intense penance, Lord Brahma blessed her and eventually Maa Brahmacharini married Lord Shiva.
