Jagannath Temple located in Puri, Orissa is world-famous, it has devotees all over the world, and it has discussions. It is considered one of the four major pilgrimage places in India. In this temple, Krishna resides in the form of Lord Jagannath along with elder brother Balarama and sister Goddess Subhadra. Every year Jagannath Rath Yatra is taken out on the second date of Shukla Paksha of Ashadh month. On this day Lord Jagannath Devi Subhadra and Balram Ji ride in separate chariots and go to their aunt's house at Gundicha temple. But some traditions are followed before this journey. It sounds very strange to hear. One of these traditions is that of God falling ill. Lord Jagannath, Subhadra Devi, and Balaram Ji all fall ill 15 days before this Rath Yatra. During this, he lives in solitude, on July 1, the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath will be taken out and now the Lord is running ill and is living in solitude, know why this tradition is performed.

Know the reason for the tradition:
According to the legend, once Lord Jagannath, Lord Balarama, and sister Subhadra were made 108 on the full moon day of Jeshtha month. After bathing in this water, all three of them fell ill and got a fever. Then he was treated with indigenous herbs. And he was kept in solitary confinement for 15 days so that the infection of the disease did not spread among the people, and after recovering completely, God came among the people. Since then, this tradition is being followed to date. Every year on Best Purnima, the Lord is bathed with water from 108 houses and after that, the Lord becomes ill and starts living in seclusion. There he is being treated by Rajvaidya, after recovering, God comes in front of everyone to give darshan to the devotees and in this happiness, a Rath Yatra is taken out.

Treated like humans:
When the Lord falls ill after bathing, he is kept in confinement for 15 days, where he takes complete rest. Meanwhile, no devotees can see him. They are treated in the same way as common people are usually treated. Ayurvedic herbs are offered to the Lord. A special oil named Phuluri is applied to them. After recovering completely, the Lord gives darshan to His devotees and after that, the Rath Yatra is taken out.

Know what message this tradition gives:
During the illness, the Lord stays in seclusion for 15 days, so that the infection does not reach His devotees, this simply means that in infectious diseases, one should keep himself away from other people. The rule was followed. And gave a message to his devotees to do the same. Most of today's experts also believe that it takes about 14 to 15 days to break the cycle of infectious disease and they were also instructed to remain in quarantine for 14 days to break the cycle of infection. At the same time, even in Quarantine, a person should not rely only on God. Rather, you should do your work by getting yourself treated by a doctor. Even if God wanted, he could have cured himself with his powers, but he did not do so and by simply getting treatment gave a message to his devotees to do the same.
