The origin story for the most feared deity is Lord Shani.

Need an expert's advise ?

One of the most well-known and feared Gods in Hindu mythology has always been Shani. Saura, Pangu, Mandu, Kruradris, Asita, and Saptarchi are other names for him.

Despite the fact that he is feared by all, why?  Shani Dev has been mentioned in a number of mythology. Let's examine a few of them:

Shani's birth
According to legend, Surya Dev was once married to Saranyu, but she later left him and went to do penance, leaving her shadow Chhaya in his wake because to his intolerable heat and brightness.

The son of Surya Dev and Chhaya, Shani Dev was born while his mother was undergoing extreme penance. As a result, Lord Shiva bestowed darkness onto Shani Dev, signifying the strength of his great penance.

Yama and Shani were the two sons of Surya Dev, the Sun God. He also goes by the name Chhayaputra because his mother was Chhaya. As the lord of Saturdays, Shani Dev stands in for Saturn. The name "God of Death" also applies to his older brother Yama. While Yama bestows rewards for one's actions after death, Shani is reputed to bestow rewards for one's actions while the person is still living. Additionally, Yamuna Devi and Putri Bhadra were his sisters. Vaivastahva Manu and Manu are his additional two brothers.

The sun underwent an eclipse during the time of Shani's birth. This indicates Shani's influence on Hindu astrology. On Vaishak Vadya Chaturdasi Amavasya, also known as Shani Amavasya or Shani Jayanti, Lord Shani was born

Shani Dev revered Lord Shiva as his spiritual leader. Because Shiva was wedded to Goddess Kali, he was also his brother-in-law. He also stands for the Vairagya concept of Lord Shiva.Chhaya, Shani's mother, had been committed to Lord Shiva's penance when Shani was in her womb. She didn't even want to eat because she was so preoccupied. This had such a deep impact on the unborn child that he had black skin.

Trustworthiness of Lord Shani
According to Hindu iconography, Lord Shani is limping and lame because he was hurt in a boyhood fight with his brother Yama. He is depicted with a bow and arrow while riding a chariot drawn by a crow, a vulture, or an iron chariot with eight horses. He typically appears with dark complexion and wears all black. He is occasionally thought to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who is tasked for dispensing the results of one's actions in this life.

Lie about Sade-Sati
Shani sade-sati is seen as a problematic time for one's life in Vedic astrology. This person may experience many difficulties, including failure, mishaps, health issues, and problems with money. They see this time as a pivotal one in their lives. But this trouble is untrue, despite what the public believes. The Gods of justice are Yama and Shani. While Yama bestows rewards for one's actions after death, Shani is reputed to bestow rewards for one's actions while the person is still living. One has to live up to their karma.

Hanuman and Shani Dev
Hanuman was born on a Saturday and is the Rudra form of Lord Shiva, according to the Surya Sanhita. Hanuman's skin tone is frequently compared to that of Lord Shani Dev in the ancient Hindu Shastras.According to legend, Lord Hanuman saved Shani Dev from Raavan, and in exchange, Shani made a vow to him that anyone who worships Hanuman on Saturdays will be exempt from Shani's negative side effects dogs.

Black dog and Shani Dev
It is also stated that feeding black dogs will counteract Shani's negative effects. Many people feed black dogs and occasionally receive advice to keep one in the home, driven by astrological prophecies.
