One should wake up early in the morning and take a bath. After this one should remember God by wearing clean clothes. Worship should be started by taking the resolution of fasting and worship. Belpatra, bhang, flowers, datura, Ganga Jal, dhoop, lamp, gand etc. should be offered to Bholenath during worship in the evening. Aarti of Lord Shiva should be performed. The next day after sunrise, the fast should be ended by doing Parana.

The evening time of this date is said to be the best and most sacred time for worshipping Bholenath because at this time Mahadev dances happily while playing Damru and blesses the devotees with happiness.
