Vaishakh month is starting now and will end on May 23, 2024. During this month, Lord Krishna is worshipped in his Madhava form. Hence, it is also called Krishna Mas. During this month, all deities reside in water. This month is considered highly fruitful for bathing and charity.

The second month of the Hindu New Year, Vaishakh, marks the beginning of the spiritual festival. This is the time when many types of festivals and fasts come and many special pujas are performed. According to the Hindu calendar, Vaishakh month is a holy month. In the Puranas, Vaishakh month is said to be the giver of salvation from the point of view of bathing, fasting and penance. With this month, the Vaishakh bath and donation starts. Bathing, donating, lighting lamps, Vaishakh month story, and worshiping Lord Vishnu are considered auspicious throughout this month.

Doing so at the time of Vaishakh leads to auspicious results and sins are mitigated. According to the Puranas, those who perform fasting, charity, and penance in this month, their sins come to an end. Vaishakh month is considered very holy. It is considered special for getting the auspicious fruits of pilgrimage. By worshiping and fasting in this month, one gets the same auspicious results as pilgrimage. The importance of this month is found in ancient texts like the Puranas. The fruits of bathing in the month of Vaishakh are equal to bathing in the Ganges a thousand times, and bathing in the Magh a hundred times.
