Gangaur 2022- Gangaur festival is celebrated as a local festival in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. This festival, which lasts for sixteen days, is celebrated from Teej of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. On this auspicious occasion, married women and girls worship Gauri, an incarnation of Lord Shiva Parvati. At the time of Gauri's worship, devotees sing the song 'Gor Gor Gomti' while sprinkling cows. Married women observe a fast on this day for the long life of their husbands and the girls worship Lord Shiva by keeping a fast to get a good husband.
These folk songs are considered to be the soul of this festival. At the end of the puja, the names of the family members are uttered and the form of Gavarja, Isar Se Badi Didi and brother-in-law are worshiped in the festival. In Rajasthan, it is considered as a ritual, so its worship is considered mandatory for married life. Apart from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, in Haryana and Gujarat, the festival of Gauri Tritiya is celebrated on a large scale and is called Gangaur.
