According to the Panchang, Aja Ekadashi will be celebrated on Tuesday. Ekadashi Tithi will start from 3.35 am on Monday, 22nd August, after midnight of 21st night and will end at 6.06 am on Tuesday, 23rd August. Fasting is concluded on Dwadashi Tithi, as it is considered auspicious and holy. Breaking the fast is called Ekadashi Parana. In this way, devotees will be able to cross Ekadashi on Wednesday, 24th August. Aja Ekadashi fasting time is between 5.55 am to 8.30 am on 24th August. Aja Ekadashi fasting method and importance
Each Ekadashi fast lasts for three days when resolutions are taken by the devotees to observe a strict fast without consuming food and water during the fast. According to Hindu culture, observing a religious fast helps people to walk on the path of salvation and dharma. Lord Vishnu removes all the problems and negativities in the life of the devotees and blesses them with happiness and prosperity. The devotees who observe the fast of Aja Ekadashi are able to get rid of all the sins and sorrows of their life.
Evening meal is not served after having lunch on Dashami. In fasting, he gets up early in the morning and wears clean clothes. Various mantras, aartis and stories are recited to worship Lord Vishnu on this day. Along with Tulsi Dal, fruits and flowers are offered to the deity. Consumption of all types of grains is avoided during Anand Ekadashi fast.
