In Pradosh Vrat, devotees fast for 24 hours and stay awake throughout the night to meditate on Lord Shiva. On this day, either Nirjala or Falhar fasting can be observed. Those who observe a fast on the day after Pradosh Tithi should worship Lord Shiva and break their fast only after offering freshly prepared food to Lord Shiva. This is the first method of fasting Pradosh, in the second method the devotees keep fast between sunrise and sunset. Red chili, grains, rice, and plain salt should be avoided during Pradosh fast. However, you can take a light diet once a day.
