Jestha Bada Mangal 2022: According to the scriptures, Tuesday is the day dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Hanuman Ji is pleased on this day by worshiping him with true devotion and law and by chanting mantras. Every Tuesday, however, which falls in the month of Jyeshtha, is called Bada Mangal. The Tuesdays that fall in this month are also very special to devotees. Let's find out why the Tuesdays fall on this day, and what its significance is.
 
Why is Bada Mangal celebrated?
According to the beliefs of the Hindu religion, Lord Shri Ram met Hanuman Ji for the first time only on Tuesday of Jyeshtha month, hence it is known as Bada Tuesday. Devotees also know it by the name of Budhwa Mangal.
 
This year Jyeshtha month will start on 17th May 2022 and it will end on 14th June 2022. The special thing about Jyeshtha month this year is that both its beginning and end will be on Tuesday. On the other hand, devotees will get 5 big mangals to worship Bajrangbali. According to scholars, this year on 17th May, 24th May, 31st May, 7th June and 14th June big Mars are falling.

History behind celebrating Bada Mangal
According to beliefs, people of both Hindu and Muslim religions celebrate the festival of Big Tuesday. It is said that Bade Mangal was started 400 years ago by the Nawab of Awadh. The story behind this is that once the son of Nawab Muhammad Ali Shah fell very ill. Then his wife got her son treated at many places but to no avail. After this, the people advised the Begum to visit an ancient Hanuman temple located in Aliganj, Lucknow for the well-being of her son and make a vow there. The Nawab did the same and as a result of his vow, the son of Nawab Mohammad Ali Shah also became completely healthy. After this, the Nawab and his Begum together got that Hanuman temple completely repaired. After the completion of the repair work, water and jaggery were distributed to the residents of the city every Tuesday in the hot summer of Jyeshtha month. Since then, Bada Mangal started being celebrated there.
 
Significance of Bada Mangal
Bade Mangal or Budhwa Mangal is said to be of great importance for all the devotees, worshiping Hanuman Ji and fasting, etc. Along with this, Bhandaras are also organized in many temples on the big Tuesday falling in Jyestha month. It is believed that the devotee who worships and observes Bajrangbali on Tuesdays of this month, happiness and prosperity increase along with removing the negative of his life. Apart from this, according to the scriptures, reciting Sunderkand and Bajrang Vana on this day is considered very fruitful.
