Navratri 2022: Worship Maa Chandraghanta on the third day of Navratri, worship method and mantra

On the third day of Navratri festival, Goddess Chandraghanta, the third incarnation of Goddess Durga is worshipped. Goddess Chandraghanta is the married form of Durga. The goddess bestows the boon of strength with courage to the devotees. This festival is celebrated all over the country with great pomp and grandeur. The Hindu festival worships nine incarnations of Goddess Durga for nine days. Navratri preparations start a week before the festival-From cleaning the house to gifting new clothes to family members, people gather to celebrate time with their loved ones.Nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshiped during the nine days of the festival: Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skanda Mata, Katyayani, Kalratri, Mahagauri and Siddhidatri. Worshiped Maa Shailputri on the first day of Navratri and worshiped Mother Brahmacharini on the second day. On the third day of the festival, Maa Chandraghanta is worshiped by Hindu devotees.

Story of Maa Chandraghanta

Goddess Chandraghanta got her name from the half moon adorning her forehead.

After marrying Lord Shiva, Goddess Durga began to adorn the half moon. Maa Chandraghanta also represents the married form of Durga. Maa Chandraghanta holds trident, mace, sword and kamandal in her four left hands and lotus flower, arrow, bow and chanting garland in her four right hands. His fifth left hand represents Varada mudra and his fifth right hand is kept in the form of Abhaya mudra. It is believed that Maa Chandraghanta bestows bravery and courage to the devotees.
