It is considered the holy month when Allah bestows his immense blessings on Muslims. The ritual of keeping the vrat is the most important event in the month. Muslims keep themselves away from indulging in any kind of malpractices. Islamic religion strictly defines evil as anger, jealousy, greed, lust, malice, gossip, etc. Sexual intercourse is prohibited during the vrat period. Purity remains at the physical and mental levels as well. The name of the vrat ritual is asavami, which is again an Arabic word.
Ramadan Prayer
Muslims go to the mosque during Ramadan. In addition to the five daily prayers during Ramadan, Muslims recite the Taraweeh prayer, also known as the night prayer. Some Muslims are so devoted that they pray the whole night. According to Islam, Ramadan vrat is how a Muslim can dedicate himself to God without worrying much about the other activities of the day.

During Ramadan
Ramadan, the month of vrat involves the devotion of Muslims to God. Throughout the month of Ramadan, Muslims go to the mosque and offer prayers. During the night they go to the homes of their friends and relatives and observe a vrat the next morning.
After Ramadan
The end of the month of Ramadan is celebrated for three days which is called Eid-ul-Fitr. The first day after the month of Ramadan is called Shawwal. Eid-ul-Fitr is to spread happiness and love all around. Muslims say Eid Mubarak to their friends and relatives to greet Eid-ul-Fitr. Eid is the festival when all the Muslims wear new clothes and exchange sweets and gifts and eat delicious food. It is time for all Muslims to celebrate after a month of vrat.
