Goddess Chhinnamasta Mythology
There are many legends about Chhinnamasta Devi. According to Hindu scriptures, once Goddess Parvati was taking a bath in the Mandakini river, where she is accompanied by two of her maidservants. But during this bath, Parvati Devi did not keep track of time. His servants started feeling hungry. Even after reminding the Goddess many times, he could not attract the attention of Mother Parvati. When Goddess Parvati finally realized that too much time had passed, she beheaded herself as she felt extremely guilty that she had left her colleagues hungry. At that time, there were three separate bloodstreams. Two blood streams quenched the hunger of the servants and from the third the goddess herself took blood. From that day onwards she was worshipped as Chhinnamasta Devi.
