One day, Kaundinya Muni broke the infinite thread tied in the left hand of his wife thinking it to be a magic spell, and burnt it by putting it in the fire. This angered Lord Vishnu and all his wealth was destroyed. After this, the sage Kaundinya decided to atone for his crime and went to the forest to seek forgiveness from the infinite God. He kept asking everyone on the way the address of the infinite God, but he could not get any information from anyone. After this, Kaundinya Muni thought of giving up his life in despair. Then an old Brahmin came and stopped him from committing suicide and took him to a cave and made him see the four-armed Anant Dev. After this, the brahmin said that the reason for this lowly condition of yours is that you have despised the infinite sutra. Now for atonement, you should observe an infinite fast for fourteen years continuously. Kaundinya Muni strictly followed the eternal fast for fourteen years. After this, happiness returned to his life, and the lost property was recovered.
