The body, mind and consciousness, this is a tripod of life. They are connected together by “Prana”. Prana is a constructive dynamic force behind our existence. The outer expression of prana is the breath. And we can’t live without breath. The inner expression of prana is heart pulsation. All that is circulation throughout the body up to the capillary ending. So if you feel the capillary pulsation, cannoted pulsation, heart pulsation and radial pulsation they are all prana.

If you want to feel the presence of pulsation of Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Grab the radial artory not too deep not too superficial and now you can feel the nature of pulsation.
If Vata is the predominant dosha in the body then the pulse will move horizontal, fast, feeble and it will move like cobra. That cobra pulse is called “Vatanadi Sipagati”. It feels under index finger.
If Pitta is the predominant dosha in the body then the pulse will moves like a jumping like frog. It feels prominently under all the three fingers, but it predominantly feels under middle finger. It is called “Mandukagati”. Manduka means frog and gati means movement.
If we feel pulsation distinct on the ring finger and it is a weavy pulse and moves like a wave of water or like swan is floating on the surface of the water that is called “Humsagati”. Humasa means swan and gati means movement. It belongs to Kapha.
