Shani Dev known as the embodies of the different  Graha (planet) Shani (in English it is used to be sais as saturn). According to the legends, Shani Dev is the son of the Sun God (Surya Dev) and Chhaya (Shadow). He delivers justice and punishes the wrongdoers. Hence he is hailed as the Lord of Justice. And this is because he makes us pay for our sins during the present and the previous births. 

However, Shani dev will also blesses those who do good deeds by bestowing them with wealth and fame. In short, he rewards people based on their Karma.
