Significance of Chaitra Purnima - Celebrated as Hanuman Jayanti in many states, this festival removes poverty and sufferings from life. Tulsi bath is considered of great importance on this holy day, which is used in worship. This day is so holy that if one takes a bath in the holy Ganges on this day, then a person attains virtue. If it is not possible to take a bath in the Ganges, then on this day, after putting Tulsi leaves in the water, one should take a bath by chanting Lord Shri Vishnu in the mind, which gives virtue. This day should start with bath and end with worship by donating. Donations made on this day are considered the best. In the end, the blessings of the elders should be taken.

In some places, the day of Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month is considered as Hanuman Jayanti. But according to the beliefs in other areas, Chaitra Purnima is considered as the day of birth of Hanuman ji. The description of both the dates is seen in the Puranas, in which one date has been called Vijay Abhinandan Festival. In places of North and Central India, it is organized as Hanuman Jayanti.
