According to the Hindi calendar, Kalashtami fast is observed every month on the Ashtami date of Krishna Paksha. Kalashtami is also known as Bhairavashtami. This time Kalashtami fast will be kept on 01 July 2021. This date is dedicated to Lord Kaal Bhairav. According to religious beliefs, Lord Bhairav is the Rudravatar of Shiva. He is called the Kotwal of Kashi. There are eight forms of Lord Bhairav, out of which ordinary people living a household life should worship Batuk Bhairav. He is the gentle form of Lord Bhairav. According to religious belief, whoever harms the devotees of Lord Bhairav does not get shelter anywhere in the three worlds. By worshiping her, one gets freedom from negative forces, fear and enemies.

Worshiping Lord Kaal Bhairav on Kalashtami gives freedom from enemy obstacles. Along with this, the person also gets freedom from unknown fear, planetary defects etc. Lord Kalabhairava protects his devotees from every crisis. Worshiping Lord Bhairav by observing a fast on the day of Kalashtami removes the troubles and problems of the seeker's life

Kalashtami worship method-
On the day of Ashtami, get up early in the morning and take a bath and resolve the fast.
Now after cleaning the temple, light a lamp in front of God.
Along with Lord Kaal Bhairav, worship Lord Shiva as well.
After this fast for the whole day and worship again in the evening.
Light an incense-lamp in front of Lord Kalabhairav.
Worship with rituals and offer Jalebi etc.
Sit there and recite Bhairav Chalisa.
After completion of the recitation, perform aarti.
